Digital Marketing Executive resume with 2 to 5 years of experience: a sample from India
At two to five years a digital marketing resume is read for money and cost: spend managed per month, cost per lead or enrolment, and what you changed to move it. Followers and impressions drop to the background unless the role is social-first.

Bullet rewrites, weak to strong
Each pair shows a line people really write and a stronger version of the same fact. The numbers are illustrations. If you have no number, see resume bullets with numbers when you have none.
- Before
Ran Google ads
AfterManaged ₹3.5 L a month of Google and Meta ad spend for a lead-generation funnel; reduced cost per lead from ₹410 to ₹260 through audience segmentation and negative-keyword lists
WhyMonthly spend sets the scale, cost per lead is the result and the method names what you actually did. 'Ran ads' fits any intern.

Managed social media
AfterGrew the Instagram following of a D2C skincare brand from 3K to 21K in 9 months with Reels-first content, lifting engagement rate from 1.8% to 4.6%
WhyStart, end and period, then a quality metric so followers are not the only number. Name the content approach in a few words.
- Before
Did email marketing
AfterBuilt a 5-message WhatsApp and email re-engagement flow for 12,000 lapsed customers; 9% came back to order, worth ₹7.4 L in the first month
WhyList size, a return rate and revenue in rupees. Owners and managers read the rupee figure first.
- Before
Improved website traffic
AfterRaised non-brand organic clicks by 52% in 6 months by merging 40 thin blog posts into 14 updated guides and fixing 120 broken internal links
WhyA percentage, a period and two actions that anyone in SEO can judge. Non-brand traffic is the figure that shows real search growth.
- Before
Handled campaign tracking
AfterFound that GA4 counted form submits twice on 4 landing pages and fixed the tag; true cost per lead was ₹330 against the ₹210 reported, which reset the team's targets
WhyThe win here is catching inflated results before chasing them. Fixing the measurement first is a habit reviewers tend to notice.
- Before
Coordinated with creative agency
AfterBriefed and reviewed a creative agency on 20 ad variants a month, cutting revision rounds from 4 to 2 with a one-page brief template
WhySays what you owned (briefs and reviews), how much and the process change that saved time. Agency work is credited honestly.
Skills to list, grouped
Group skills into three or four lines and keep only those you could discuss for ten minutes. Each should appear in a bullet, a project or a certificate.
- Paid media: Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, A/B Testing, Budget Management
- Organic and CRM: SEO, Email Marketing, WhatsApp Marketing, HubSpot
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, Excel
What recruiters for this role tend to look for
- Spend managed in rupees per month, split by channel, since the size of the budget you handled sets the scope of your next role.
- Cost metrics with a before and after: cost per lead, cost per enrolment or ROAS, and the change you made to move it.
- Organic results with a time frame: traffic or ranking growth over months, not 'improved SEO'.
- CRM habits: flows built, list size, open or click rates and the revenue they could be tied to.
- Tracking hygiene: GA4 events, UTM discipline and dashboards, since reports people trust make budget decisions easier.
Mistakes common at this level
- Reporting vanity metrics (impressions, followers) when the role is paid or lead generation. Lead with cost per lead, conversions or revenue.
- Claiming results for a budget you never controlled, or mixing agency numbers with your own. State what you ran and what the agency ran.
- Listing 15 platforms. Hiring managers read depth in two or three; the rest belongs in one skills line.
Section order on the sample
The sample uses the Classic Single template, A4 (210 by 297 mm), one column, with the sections in this order: Summary, Experience, Skills, Education, Certifications. The order follows the level: skills and experience lead and school marks have come off.
Questions people ask
Should I put ad spend in rupees on my resume?
Yes, as a monthly or annual figure, because it shows the scale of money you handled. Use only what you managed yourself and round sensibly. If your employer treats spend as confidential, a range such as '₹3 to 4 L a month' works.
How do I show results if I worked with an agency?
Say what you owned: briefs, budgets, approvals and reporting. Credit the agency's work as theirs and claim the metric you tracked, for example 'reviewed 20 ad variants a month and cut revision rounds from 4 to 2'.
Do school marks still matter at three years?
They come off by now, and the degree can sit in one line. Keep 10 to 12 skills that each appear in a bullet. What to remove from an Indian resume lists the other usual extras.
