Digital Marketing Executive resume for freshers: a sample from India

A digital marketing fresher is judged on tools used and anything public: a page that ranks, an account that grew, an ad budget you spent. Small honest numbers beat large vague claims, and platform certificates from Google or Meta count for more than course badges.

Summary examples for a fresher

Two ways to open the page. Neither is the summary on the sample resume beside it, so you can see more than one approach.

Summary example 1

Summary
B.Com graduate (2026) who ran the Instagram and WhatsApp campaign for a 3-day college fest, reaching 31,000 accounts and 900 registrations. Certified in Google Analytics and Google Ads Search; looking for a Digital Marketing Executive role in social media or SEO.Leads with a campaign you ran and two certificates from the platform itself. Fits a graduate with no internship but a verifiable event.

Summary example 2

Summary
MBA Marketing student finishing in 2027 with a 2-month SEO internship that produced 18 optimised blog posts and a 40% rise in organic sessions for a regional news site. Google Ads Search certified; applying for a digital marketing entry role.Puts the internship result first and the certificate second. Suits a postgraduate who needs the page to read as practical, not academic.

Bullet rewrites, weak to strong

Each pair shows a line people really write and a stronger version of the same fact. The numbers are illustrations. If you have no number, see resume bullets with numbers when you have none.

  1. Before

    Did SEO internship

    After

Wrote and optimised 35 blog posts during a 3-month internship; 12 ranked on page 1 for target keywords and organic traffic grew 60%

    Why

Posts written, the ranking result and the traffic change, each of which can be checked in Search Console. 'Did SEO internship' names a place, not work.

  2. Before

    Managed college Instagram page

    After

Grew a college club's Instagram page from 1,800 to 6,400 followers in 6 weeks with a Reels-and-stories schedule; 410 students signed up through the link in bio

    Why

Start and end counts, a time frame and a conversion that matters more than followers. Sign-ups show the audience acted.

  3. Before

    Learned Google Analytics

    After

Completed the Google Analytics certification and set up GA4 on a personal food blog; defined 2 conversion events and found that 64% of 3,200 monthly visits came from mobile

    Why

A certificate shows study; a live property with events and a finding shows use. Even a personal blog counts when the numbers are real.

  4. Before

    Made posters in Canva

    After

Designed 40 Canva creatives for a 3-week campaign and tested two headline styles; the question headline earned a 2.1% click rate against 1.2%

    Why

Volume, a test and a result. Testing two versions is the habit that turns a designer into a marketer.

  5. Before

    Wrote content for website

    After

Wrote 12 product pages and 6 blog posts for a handloom store, each built on one searched phrase; two blog posts brought 900 visits in a month

    Why

Pages written, the search logic behind them and the visits that followed. Content writing reads as marketing when it is tied to search.

  6. Before

Helped in college blood-donation drive promotion

    After

Coordinated social posts and WhatsApp reminders for a college blood-donation drive: 24 posts in 3 weeks and 140 students registered as donors

    Why

Names your part, the channels and a registration count. A social-cause campaign is a fair project when it has a goal and a measured result.

Skills to list, grouped

Group skills into three or four lines and keep only those you could discuss for ten minutes. Each should appear in a bullet, a project or a certificate.

  • Search: SEO, Keyword Research, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4
  • Paid and social: Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Instagram, Canva
  • Email and content: Mailchimp, Content Calendar, WordPress, Google Sheets

What recruiters for this role tend to look for

  • Anything with a public result: a page that ranks, a page that grew, an ad account you could screen-share. Recruiters tend to ask to see it.
  • Platform certificates from the source (Google Skillshop, Meta Blueprint) with a year, since they show you have used the tools and not only read about them.
  • Small numbers that are honest: ₹8,000 of spend, 14 posts, 620 subscribers. A real small number reads better than a vague large one.
  • Writing quality in the resume itself. The first marketing test a reader runs is usually the resume's own copy.
  • A single clean page with the posting's keywords (SEO, GA4, Meta Ads) placed where they are true: summary, skills and bullets.

Mistakes common at this level

  • Listing 'social media marketing' with no account, no content count and no result.
  • Claiming 'managed ad campaigns' when the budget was someone else's and you only scheduled posts. Say what you controlled.
  • A design-heavy file with icons and skill bars. Portals read text, and a bar at 80% says nothing a recruiter can check.

Section order on the sample

The sample uses the Fresher First template, A4 (210 by 297 mm), one column, with the sections in this order: Summary, Education, Projects, Skills, Experience, Certifications. The order follows the level: education and projects lead because there is little job history yet.

Questions people ask

Which certificates are worth listing for a digital marketing fresher?

Official ones from Google Skillshop (Analytics, Ads) and Meta Blueprint tend to carry the most weight because they come from the platform itself. Pick two or three that match the role and add the year. A long list of course badges dilutes them.

I have no internship. What can I show?

Run a small project of your own: a blog, a local business page you improve with the owner's permission, or a college event campaign. Keep records of spend, posts and results. Resume bullets without numbers helps when the figures are small.

Should I include my social media links?

Only if the account shows marketing work, such as a brand page you ran or a small portfolio. Add one link in the header as visible text. Leave personal accounts off, and see what to remove from an Indian resume for the usual extras.
