Operations Executive resume with 2 to 5 years of experience: a sample from India

At two to five years an operations manager reads for volume, the standard you held and the money you saved. Shipments a day, on-time or accuracy rates with a baseline, vendor spend and the MIS you ran replace a fresher's internship counts, and school marks come off.

Summary examples for 2 to 5 years of experience

Two ways to open the page. Neither is the summary on the sample resume beside it, so you can see more than one approach.

Bullet rewrites, weak to strong

Each pair shows a line people really write and a stronger version of the same fact. The numbers are illustrations. If you have no number, see resume bullets with numbers when you have none.

  1. Before

    Managed daily operations

    After

Ran last-mile operations for a hub handling 3,200 shipments a day across 18 riders and improved on-time delivery from 89% to 96% in two quarters

    Why

Daily volume, rider count and a before-and-after on the one measure last-mile is judged on. 'Managed daily operations' fits every job in the building.

  2. Before

    Vendor management

    After

Managed 25 vendors for packaging and consumables (₹2 Cr annual spend) and negotiated rate revisions that saved ₹14 L a year

    Why

Vendor count, annual spend and a saving. Spend gives the saving a size: ₹14 L on ₹2 Cr is 7%, which an interviewer can judge.

  3. Before

    Prepared MIS reports

    After

Automated the daily MIS for 14 hubs with Excel Power Query, removing 3 hours of manual compiling and giving the city head the figures by 9 a.m.

    Why

Scope (14 hubs), the tool, the time saved and the deadline met. MIS work counts when it changes when or how decisions are taken.

  4. Before

    Handled customer complaints about delays

    After

Cut delivery-delay complaints from 410 to 190 a month by calling customers on delayed parcels before they called the helpline

    Why

A count before and after, plus the action. Proactive contact is an operations decision, so say what you changed and not only what you answered.

  5. Before

    Worked to reduce damages

    After

Reduced damage and loss claims from 1.8% to 0.7% of shipments by adding a scan at hub exit and a photo check at loading

    Why

A rate before and after, and the two controls you added. Controls are what operations managers want to see you can design.

  6. Before

    Managed riders during festive sale

    After

Led 26 riders and 2 supervisors through an 11-day festive peak, moving 31,000 parcels with no missed SLA day

    Why

Team size, the peak window, the volume and the standard held. Peaks are where operations teams are tested, so they make strong proof.

Skills to list, grouped

Group skills into three or four lines and keep only those you could discuss for ten minutes. Each should appear in a bullet, a project or a certificate.

  • Hub and warehouse: Hub management, Route planning, Rider and fleet management, Cycle counting, Dispatch accuracy
  • Vendors and cost: Vendor management, Rate negotiation, RTO reduction
  • Reporting: MIS reporting, MS Excel (Power Query), Power BI, WMS

What recruiters for this role tend to look for

  • Shipments or orders a day and the number of riders, staff or sites, so the reader can size your hub.
  • On-time delivery, first-attempt success, RTO or accuracy as before-and-after numbers with the period.
  • Vendor and cost ownership: the number of vendors, the spend and what you saved or avoided.
  • MIS you built or ran: which KPIs, who received it and how often, since reporting is a daily part of most operations roles.
  • Peak-season and shift evidence: festive peaks, night shifts, hubs run without a manager on site.

Mistakes common at this level

  • Writing 'managed daily operations' with no volume. Give shipments or orders a day and the headcount behind them.
  • Quoting on-time delivery with no baseline. 96% means little until the reader sees the 89% it started from.
  • Listing every software tool used for a day. Keep the WMS, Excel and BI tools you actually built something in.

Section order on the sample

The sample uses the Classic Single template, A4 (210 by 297 mm), one column, with the sections in this order: Summary, Experience, Skills, Education, Certifications, Achievements. The order follows the level: skills and experience lead and school marks have come off.

Questions people ask

How do I write last-mile experience if I worked at a third-party hub?

Describe the hub and your scope, not the client: shipments a day, riders or staff, and the standard you were measured on. Client names are often covered by contract, so write 'e-commerce deliveries in Delhi NCR' unless you have permission to name the client.

Should I include Power BI if I only built simple dashboards?

Yes, if you can say what the dashboard tracked and who used it. 'Built a daily dashboard of 7 KPIs for the city head in Power BI' is honest and checkable. If you only edited someone else's file, leave it out of Skills and mention the task instead.

How long should an operations resume be at four years?

One page. Two roles with three to five bullets each is enough. If you have rotated across many shifts or hubs, give the largest hub in full and compress the rest into one line. What to remove from an Indian resume lists the other things that take space.
