Fresher: what changes

A sales manager reading a fresher resume wants one thing first: proof that you can face a stranger and close. With no job history, that proof is a target you hit or outlets and leads you covered, even in a college or part-time setting. Marks stay on the page but are not the argument; at two to five years, rupees and percentage of target replace these small numbers.

First thing a reader checks: A target and a result in numbers, even from a college or part-time setting: passes sold, rupees raised, outlets covered, leads called.

2 to 5 years: what changes

At two to five years a sales manager wants your numbers against a target, in rupees and as a percentage, and a sense of the patch you worked: branches, outlets, dealers or leads. Marks come off the page, and the summary names the product and the step you want next.

First thing a reader checks: Target and achievement in rupees and as a percentage, with the period stated (FY26, Q3).

5+ years: what changes

At five years or more a sales head reads for scope and judgment: the team you led, the revenue it delivered against target, and the decisions on territory, pricing and hiring behind it. Personal selling numbers fade; team results, retention and a clear baseline carry the page.

First thing a reader checks: Revenue and target at the level you owned (team, region, area), with the baseline and the period.
