Resume for Cognizant: name the domain, show the testing
GenC is the search term students use for Cognizant's fresher route. We could not verify its current rules. This page covers two things that help in any services application: naming the domain of your projects, and writing testing work so a reader can see it.

What we know, and what we do not
Domain is a search term
Recruiters in India filter on domain as well as on technology: healthcare, banking, retail, insurance, edtech. A fresher's project is usually generic, so naming its domain is a cheap way to be found. Put it in the project title or the first line, as in 'ClinicSlot: appointment API for small clinics (healthcare)'. If the project was a class exercise, say so. A domain label is not a claim that a client existed.

Testing and programmer lines with counts
If you are targeting testing or programmer roles, the reader wants to see work done at some volume. Counts of cases, defects and endpoints are the clearest evidence, and they are things you can usually look up in your own JIRA, spreadsheet or test report.

An MCA after a B.Sc: show both degrees
List the postgraduate degree first with its CGPA, then the undergraduate degree with its percentage, then Class XII, each with years. Keep the years continuous. If there is a gap between degrees, month-and-year dates and one honest line are better than a year-only range. CGPA vs percentage and school marks explains how to write each score.
Certificates, and the interview behind them
ISTQB Foundation Level is a recognised certificate for testers, and an NPTEL course in software testing gives a graded record. List only what you hold, with issuer and year. Then be ready to demonstrate: an interviewer may ask you to write a test case or a short query on the spot. Every tool on the page should be one you can use in front of them.
Before you submit: a short checklist
- I have read the current official notice for the route I am using.
- Each project names its domain and says whether it was academic, personal or a real pilot.
- Testing lines carry counts of cases, defects or endpoints I can verify.
- Both degrees are listed with scores, scale and continuous years.
- Certificates list issuer and year, and I hold every one.
- One page, one column, text-based PDF, no photo or declaration.

What is GenC, and should I mention it?
We could not verify its current details from Cognizant's documents. Treat it as a search term. Mention a score or certificate only if you hold one that the programme issued, with the issuer and year.
Can I name a domain for a class project?
Yes, as a label, such as healthcare or retail. Do not imply a real client existed. Write 'academic project' or 'personal project', and use 'pilot with 3 clinics' only if that happened.
Is the ISTQB certificate worth listing?
If you hold it, yes. It is a recognised foundation-level certificate for testers. Give the year, and be ready to talk about the syllabus topics in an interview.
