Resume for TCS: format, keywords, and what we cannot confirm
Most students who search for a TCS resume are preparing for the national qualifier route. We cannot tell you this year's test pattern or cutoffs. We can show you a resume that is clean, truthful and useful at the interview, particularly if your branch is not Computer Science.

In short
- We do not describe TCS's current test, tracks or cutoffs. Read the official notice and your placement cell's circular.
- The resume has three jobs: agree with your application form, read cleanly as text, and give an interviewer something real to ask about.
- If your branch is ECE, EEE or Mechanical, show software evidence early: a project, a programming certificate, an internship line.
- One page, one column, marks written with their scale.
What we know, and what we do not
What follows holds whatever the rules are this year. It is general guidance for a large IT-services employer, and it is only as specific as the evidence allows.
How to read the notice before you touch the resume
- 01
Find the official notice
Use the company's careers or campus page and your placement cell's circular, not a blog's summary of last year.
- 02
Note the eligibility
Degree, branches, year of passing, minimum marks and any other condition the notice lists.
- 03
Note what the form asks
Marks for Class X, Class XII and the degree, year of passing, branch. The form is the record that employers check.
- 04
Copy those values into Education
Use the same scale and the same digits, so the resume and the form agree exactly.
- 05
Keep a screenshot of the notice
If a question comes up later, you can show what you applied against.
If your branch is not Computer Science
A reader looking at an ECE, EEE or Mechanical resume applying to IT services is asking one thing: can this person work with code? Answer with evidence in the first third of the page. The notice tells you which branches are eligible. The resume tells the interviewer that you can do the job anyway.
A summary for a non-CSE applicant
Showing code without a CSE degree
- Before
Knowledge of Python and Java
AfterWrote a Python script that merged 9 weekly lab-result sheets into one report, saving the lab assistant about 2 hours every week
WhyA task, a count and a saving. A reader can ask how it worked, which is the interview you want.
- Before
Did final-year project on IoT
AfterBuilt a soil-moisture alert system with an ESP32 board and a Python dashboard that logged readings every 15 minutes for 8 weeks across 3 plots
WhyHardware and software, the interval, the duration and the scale of the trial.
- Before
Good at problem solving
AfterSolved 260 problems on GeeksforGeeks in C and Python, including 40 on arrays and strings, in the three months before test season
WhyA count, the languages and the topics. 'Good at' invites a doubt that a number answers.
Marks, form and resume must agree
Large employers verify. AuthBridge's report for the first half of FY26 found discrepancies in 4.33% of white-collar checks and misrepresented resumes in 18.8% of IT and ITES cases. These are one verification firm's figures from its own clients, but they are why a small mismatch is treated seriously. Write marks with their scale, never round up, and keep Class X and XII as one line each if the form asks for them. The details are in CGPA vs percentage and school marks.
What to leave out
Leave off the photo, date of birth, father's name and declaration. The form collects what the employer needs. Skip skills you cannot discuss, because a technical round can start from any line. And do not copy a sentence from the notice into your summary. For the wider rules, read resume for IT-services campus hiring.
Before you submit: a short checklist
- I have read this year's official notice, not a blog summary.
- Degree, branch, year and marks match my marksheets and the application form.
- One page, one column, text-based PDF under 1 MB, named Firstname_Lastname_Resume.pdf.
- If my branch is not CSE, the summary says so and the first project shows code.
- Every skill listed appears in a project, internship or certificate.
- No photo, date of birth, father's name or declaration.
- I can explain every number on the page in one sentence.
Questions people ask
What is the TCS NQT resume format?
We found no official resume template for it, and we could not verify the current process from TCS documents. Build a clean one-page resume as above, fill the application form exactly, and follow the notice for anything else.
Do Ninja and Digital need different resumes?
We do not know what each track's criteria are this year. One accurate resume is enough. If the notice states criteria for a track, make sure your page shows evidence for them, and never claim what you do not have.
My CGPA is below a figure I saw on a blog. Should I still apply?
Read the official notice for the rule that applies. If it asks for marks you do not have, applying may not help, and misstating a mark is a serious integrity problem. Look for employers whose notices fit your profile.
Should I list my NQT score on the resume?
Only a score or rank you actually hold, with the test name and year, under certifications or achievements. Do not list a test you are only planning to take.
